"They are doing great! They are both such sweeties. Peanut is singing up a storm this week doing the foot-microphone routine. Last week Brittle was the one singing a lot. They seem to take turns. So glad they have settled in so well here. I couldn't have asked for better birdies!"

While hanging out with my newborn niece I saw this on the tv I thought you guys might find it as adorable as I did.
It's a children show called "Bird & 3rd" and It's about Sammy the lovebird and his little sister Muffin. Weither or not you wanna be picky about the coloring and the sounds they make, you gotta at least love the fact that they finally have some parrots on tv instead of another cat and dog show. Not that I don't like cats and dog but they are more than represented.

Whenever I travel I board Kappa at the local parrot store where I originally bought her. The owner is a crotchety old woman who cares greatly about her birds, takes very good care of them, and often tells everyone else they're doing everything wrong. She has decided that I am feeding Kappa the Wrong Veggie Diet, specifically that I give Kappa too much spinach. She's convinced that spinach is bad for birds b/c it's got too much iron in it - firstly, the myth that spinach is high in iron is just that, a myth. It's no higher in iron than any other leafy green vegetable. Secondly, just to appease her I switched from spinach to other leafy green vegetables, like kale or dandelion greens, so there isn't any spinach in there.

While I only care about making her happy in as much as I care about greasing the social wheels and being able to continue to board Kappa there (hence switching the spinach to a different leafy green), I do care about whether I really am giving Kappa a healthy veggie diet. So what I've got below is Kappa's veggie diet, both recipe and photos, and I would like a critique of it - should I add something? do I have too much of something else? Quantities are not exact in my recipe, since I usually eyeball things anyway. Everything is organic.

I'm new to this group and don't know if this is allowed, but I have posted my Jupi w/o box on Ebay. I didn't know what a fair price would be, so I made it an auction rather than Buy It Now. I do think I have the box, but just wanted to get her listed before Christmas.

am woried about her getting into a rut, am doing the things that you should do, changed her cage (she also get a new cage that was set up just the day that she droped the egg, but thing that she was harbering the egg before that. Had the cage in parts so she could get used to the idea.)
Lots of things have changed in the last few mts. We did remodeling, the Nandays are in the same room as her for now. (she told me that she hates that. Wanted me to send them to Chris,the pet show we used for bording the birds. She asked to be sent to Chriss Chritters at one point. I asked her about going to Vickys, were she was for a two mts. She said "too Far"
Any way I have a posability for a vet visit for thur if I need to bring her in, (She seems to have lost a small amount of mass, and is plucking a bit.
She got out of her cage when I was not home, and laid the egg in the bathroom. She has been very defencive of the bathroom, but not showing much intrest in the egg. She Gave it to Greg, "Gregs Egg" and was expecting him to take care of it. Head desk. (Greg found the egg in the bathroom.) She also told a friend of mine that the Egg was Gregs. Not the Nanday Peter.
It is in her cage, but she is not doing anything with it. I asked her today if it was ok if i took it out.
She told me to "put in the new cage." "It can live there." I am very confused by this.
Aside from that she has not been talking very much. "She also said that she" felt full." Am woried that she might be atempting to have a second egg.
Lots of changes one would think that she would be less like to have eggs.
Head desk.
Am giving her food hight in calcium fortified grape juce and chease and carrots and coooked grain, cabage, pizza, what ever she will eat.
